Mail Forwarding for moves
Use Mail Forwarding for moves if you’re:
Mail Forwarding for moves- Not returning to your original address
- A homeowner, renter or business moving or changing post office boxes
- Managing an estate or receiving mail for a deceased individual
Mail Forwarding for temporary relocation
Use Mail Forwarding for temporary relocation if you’re:
Mail Forwarding for temporary relocation- A snowbird going south for the winter
- Relocating during renovations, a temporary job or an extended vacation
- Managing mail on behalf of someone else
- Or for any other reasons, when you’re still associated with the current address
Here’s what we don’t forward
- Parcels (for example XpresspostTM or Regular ParcelTM)
- Prepaid envelopes
- Newspapers and flyers delivered by other parties
- Personal mail delivered to a business/institution such as an office building, a hospital, nursing home or a hotel
- Mail received at a shared postal address (i.e. when the same address is used by more than two businesses)
- Mail through a privately administrated mailbox company
If you’re expecting parcel deliveries you must advise the sender(s) of your new address, even when you have the Mail Forwarding service in place. For more details, please read the terms and conditions of the service.

Buy residential Mail Forwarding when your home* address or personal post office box changes. You can’t include a business name in your residential request. Pricing will vary depending on: how long you want the service, how far you’re moving (within province, across provinces or internationally) and whether it’s a temporary relocation or a permanent move. Up to four individual names are included in the base fee, with the option to include up to four additional names for a fee.

When you purchase Mail Forwarding for moves (residential) you’ll get personalized information about your new neighbourhood as well as valuable coupons and offers.
Buy business Mail Forwarding when you change your business location* or business post office box. Home-based businesses can include the names of two individuals who live at the same business address. Purchase the service before your business move:
- At least 5 days for enterprise commercial customers;
- At least 10 days for small business customers.
Pricing will vary depending on:
- How long you want the service for;
- How far you’re moving (within province, across provinces or international);
- Whether the service is for a temporary relocation or a move; and
- Whether your business uses a unique postal code** due to high volume of mail or not.
Up to two business names and two individual names are included in the base fee, with the option to include up to four additional individual names for a fee. Commercial users may be eligible for customized service. You'll be required to sign in to your Canada Post account to find out more.

**Unique postal codes are assigned to businesses receiving a high volume of mail to facilitate mail processing. The unique postal code will be identified during the service purchase, and if applicable, your business will be charged the high volume rate.
